An Important Update For Our Commercial Insureds
There are few things I appreciate more in the business of insurance than folks like you; those who entrust an independent agency with the responsibility of servicing their insurance needs.
This is why it has always been our goal at Sidle Insurance to deliver a consistently better product to our clients.
It’s for this very reason that I’m reaching out to you now with important news on how we will be managing policy delivery methods in the future. I’m aware this isn’t an exciting topic, but I ask that you take a moment to read about this significant update that will effect many of our clients.
Things Have Changed
It used to be that commercial insurance policies were physically delivered to our office from the insurance companies themselves. In fact, they would even bind them with a nice cover - ready for delivery. But as the years have gone by, the insurance companies have dropped this helpful habit.
Now, they only send an electronic (.pdf) version of the policy.
For the last couple of years, we’ve printed your policies in our office using our own resources. As you might imagine, our printing costs have risen steeply and we spend quite a bit of time preparing policies for delivery by hand, when we’d rather use that time serving our clients to our fullest ability.
To this end, we have made the difficult decision to no longer print polices in our office as of January 1, 2020.
Our Solution
We refuse to sacrifice our commitment to providing unmatched service and adaptive insurance solutions that are easily accessible to you.
It is because of this commitment that we have built something called Client Portal, and a smartphone app to accompany it, which will serve exclusively as our new method of policy delivery.
In fact, all of your policies, claims info, certificates, Auto ID Cards, and other documents are available on Client Portal, 24/7/365. You can also upload documents of your own to our secure server (photos, inventories, etc.). Many of our clients are already actively using our portal and you may have heard about it over the last year or so as we have begun rolling it out.
We’ve chosen to embrace the technology that we have, but if you’d like to have possession of your documents, you can always download them to a .pdf and have them electronically, or even print them at your own discretion via the portal.
To access Client Portal, please visit this link or use the buttons below.
You can also download the app, “Insurlink”, via the app store and use your Client Portal login to take your insurance information with you on the go once you're signed up.
We realize that this may be an adjustment. It certainly has been for us.
While our portal was a big investment, it does not compare with the continuing cost of printing, sorting, binding and the delivery of policies that our companies have passed along to us. More importantly, we feel this is a step forward for our clients, like you, as you can now take your insurance needs just about anywhere via the portal or the app on your mobile device.
We hope that you will embrace this change with us, and we look forward to continuing to service your insurance needs.
Respectfully yours,
David L. Sidle, CIC, CPIA
